Friday Night Sew In

YEAH it's another Friday Night Sew In! I am luck to get to do this as well as have a Girls night as well! Since we usually just chill out, I bring my crocheting with me and get some stuff in. So I will finish my night off making a school bus (more to come later).

Tonight though before I go....well basically after I get home from picking up my kiddos from school. I will finish my 2 outstanding bee blocks! YEAH!! Then tomorrow I am free to begin cutting into a new project!

What are you guys working on??

How I quilt....

I had my cousin ask for some quilting advice from me. Feels weird to have people ask me because I don't consider myself an expert at all!! So I drew out how I quilt my quilts after I basted them. I have been doing this a lot lately since my Long Arm Sewing Machine is broken.
Here is the overall way I quilt...

There here is a more detailed look how I do each section. I thought I would share with everyone in case people were curious.
I taught myself how to quilt by reading blogs and doing searching on youtube and whatnot.
A really good place to start if you want a good video is crazymomquilts by Amanda Jean. She is awesome and taught me so much!

New Year's

For New Year's we went to Tooele Utah to stay the night with Trav's little brother and his family. Everyone gathered (all of Trav's siblings) and we watched kids play, ate and played games into the New Year.

 Sierra
 Riley
 Carson
Nathan (he had the funniest faces)
Here is Trav's cousin Tyler...he was there. He is running to jump on a bean bag. That was a very weird game the kids played.
Aunt Melissa was very good at keeping the kids organized and waiting their turn in line.
Kimball would run over to Grandma all the time and snuggle with her until his turn. He had to share her lap with Brittney that would do the same.
You can kinda see me in the corner crocheting....the adults just stayed at the side and watched
I loved how Trav laided down in the floor...
Then after the playing and eating we put the kids to bed. The boys fell asleep quickly...Brandon started out on the couch and then fell down onto the floor. Kimball is underneath the Thomas blanket.
Then the adults played a little of wii....
Then some of us played a game called Quelf....such a FUN game!! It brings people out of their comfort levels. It was awesome.
Jacque (Riley and Carson's mom and John's wife) was really excited to play... Melissa here was nervous. She had played the game before and knew what she was getting into.
I had her take a picture of me and Trav....
Then Tyler being silly....Trav pulling my ear and then me pulling his (dumb) beard.
My MIL (Cindy) and Trav's sister Rose had to have their arms around each other for over half of the game and then Rose had to do a weird hand wave whenever someone drew a card (you do it on every turn)
April and Jacque had to dance for 1 minute! We thought it was so funny!
Every time someone said Trav's name he had to do the "whatever" sign.
Then we rung in the new year with sparkling cider and watching the ball drop!
 Happy New Year!! Good-bye 2010!

Christmas Day

Here is what happened on Christmas Day...
We all woke up and put on a pair of our brand new pajamas! Here is one for Brandon....his Magic School Bus one.
Nathan was just a little excited!
Kimball had a hard time opening gifts, but we got there.
The boys were so sweet sitting next to each other opening gifts and telling each other what they were getting.
Travis was our "handler" and handed everyone their gifts. He is wearing is skill pajamas.
I was pretty tired, and am wearing my doughnut pajamas.

Then we chilled for a bit, I got a nap! Then we went down to Springville to be with family.

Sierra was so excited....we stayed the rest of the day at Grandma and Grandpa Walkers.

Brittney was so cute running around changing all the time (reminds me of when I was young)
They all had fun playing with their new toys. Here is Kimball's new pajamas, a train one.
Nathan is wearing his army pajamas. They had a hard time waiting for his Aunt and Uncle to get there to open presents.
Here is Uncle Wayne smashing Brittney...cute.
Here are some of the people who were there. We just stood at the sides and watched the kids tear presents apart.
Kimball got this Thomas flashlight and he LOVED it!
Travis loved playing with his nieces! He is such a teaser....
Then all of us! We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!
