Sick

Over the past weekend Brandon came down with a fever and a cough. After medication he was doing better and went back to school yesterday, but what did I get?? The same thing....although I feel that I have it worse (bear yourself...venting coming) because:

1. I don't get to take the day off, I wish I could and I try but I still have to do the minimum to get everyone going.

2. No one I can go to take care of me, because I am a grown-up now and can't act like a child and Travis has to work

3. If I don't do something now, it won't get done

4. The worst of all, I feel even more like a slacker and a loser because I see my house slowly falling apart, no cleaning done, laundry piling up and no energy to fix it.....Then I still have to drag myself up and go to parent teacher conferences because if I don't I DON"T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN!!

So for anyone who is curious...being sick SUCKS for mothers.

Another one I KNOW!

I have been having a hard time with Nathan's quilt. My thread kept on breaking and I just couldn't ge the tension right. After switching my needles about 5 times, I was told to use a larger needle, and it did the trick!!
So I am about almost done with his quilt, and am stippling away, when I realize that it is a little thicker than before............

OPPS!

Halloween Quilt

Finally done with my second quilt!! This is the one that I hve been waiting to use my darning foot with. I have had it done for about a week now, but I needed to take a picture of it. This quilt marks my total to 2 quilts! I am not perfect with my stippling, but I think I will get better as time goes. Travis really likes it and so do the boys. Back of the quilt. I had one block left so I added it to the back.
I thought the leaves on the ground added a nice touch!

Kimball thought that when I took the little chair outside to put the quilt on, he needed to sit on it. He even posed a smile for me!

Now I am working on Nathan's quilt!

School Carnival

Well as you may haven Brandon had an interesting hair cut....and it was on purpose. This past week he had a drug free week at school and they got to wear silly things like backwards day, slipper day, and Brandon's favorite crazy hair day.

I brought the idea to him when we got the paper telling about it, because Brandon needed a hair cut again (it grows like a weed) and he was supper excited for it. At then end of the crazy hair day we did a regular cut.
That Friday we went to the school carnival. We put some bids on some packages and got our face painted. It was really hot out, so we asked the boys if they wanted a happy meal and it worked like a charm!! I don't feel too bad because there were long lines everywhere, and you know my boys!! We did have a good time though!
