It seems that my to do list is NEVER ending. As soon as I get close to something done, I start something else.

One thing that started has gotten finished!! I was called to be in the Relief Society Presidency (a woman's organization in our church) and with that comes a whole LOT of new responsibilities! I could list them all but why? At our last meeting we had we realized we had TONS of new babies being born in our ward (area). Two have been born so far and I think we still have 3 more before the end of the year. My mom had given me some of her baby fabric that she had bought over the years and already cut into squares....so I volunteered to make a blanket because I already had stuff. I had thought it was flannel and was just going to sew two layers of flannel together. I get to my stash and find that it was cotton! Oh well, so I made 2 boy baby quilts. I used all scraps including batting that I have left over. I started a pink girl's quilt but didn't finish it in time this morning to deliver them to the new Mommy's in the ward but we just saw 2 baby boys so we were good!

 This was the first one...it turned out so pretty! No names for the quilts though...maybe Baby Boy quilt #1....(lets see just how many I end up making while I am doing this calling!)

 You can't see it well from this picture but I did just a simple stippling for the quilting, and for the patchwork it's just two different squares.

 The back I used some green flannel I had. It made for a nice and soft back.

 Then I found some blue and yellow squares....Some of the yellow squares are flannel.

 I used flannel for the back and binding. Amazing what you can find in your stashes! I did end up using a bit thicker batting for this quilt though, so it seemed a lot bigger.

I know these quilts will be well loved and used! I didn't think to measure them but I think they are roughly 35.5"x35.5". I used 100-4" squares.

Halloween Accessories

To give credit to Halloween, that day (Sunday) I dressed in black and orange! It was kinda fun and cool. Everyone loved my accessories!

 I made a cute crochet necklace of pumpkins and candy corn.

 Pumpkin earrings....

 And a candy corn hair clip!

You can't really tell but I braided my hair that night and then brushed it all out the next morning to make it nice a poofy (80's do)

**Going through my pictures I didn't realize how tired I look!! I don't feel this tired all the time, but I guess that's what I get for having 3 small children and my refusal to stop doing my sewing and crafts!

Halloween Part 2

If Halloween falls on a Sunday, in our house we celebrate it on Saturday. We just like to keep our Sabbath Day's as sacred as we can. So our church had a Halloween Party that Saturday.

It started out with the Young Women in our ward dancing to Micheal Jackson's "Thriller". Micheal was before my time, but I thought that these girls did great.

 There was then hot dogs and side dishes for dinner and then the kiddos went and played games all around the gym.

 Kimball had fun playing different games but wasn't into it as much as his brothers.

 Brandon and Nathan are old enough now and well behaved enough that I let them go and do their thing and I would go and check up on them.

 I found Nathan doing a cake walk... (More bad pictures!!! :( Grrr)

 Then Brandon did the cake walk....

 Kimball after awhile again took off his costume and was running around. I was able to nab him and get a quick picture with him!

 Kimball liked a toy spider he got and he played with Daddy for some time pretending that the spider was on his head.

 They had a story teller. Kimball had fun at first but didn't last the whole time.

 I found Nathan again playing the fishing game. Believe it or not he is posing! He knows I take pictures and so he wants me to take a picture of him in EVERY step! Such a cutie, too bad that most of the time I can tell he is posing, maybe 20 years down the road I will forget!

 After the party we came home and got ready to go trick-r-treating. I was dressed up as a fairy type person. I decided at the las minute to do it.

What cute boys! In this picture I can kinda go back and see them as they were younger....meaning they look younger in this picture to me.

We then went to go door to door, but unfortunately the boys didn't behave so we had to go home, but when we did it started raining so it ended up okay. We didn't have any trick or treaters either. Darn rain! Oh well, all in all a good Halloween.

Halloween Part 1

I have been such a slacker lately when it comes to my blog! I have good intentions and I am always thinking of things to add but never get it on here! Proof of that is my Halloween pictures!! Not too much time has passed but it is time to start thinking of Thanksgiving.

Here is one part of our Halloween Celebration (or if you ask Brandon and Nathan, the Day of the Dead Celebration)

We always head down to Springville and go to Grandma and Grandpa's Trunk-r-Treat.

 Here is Grandpa staking out his spot. Can you guess what he went as?

 Nathan and Kimball were anxious to start going around. I don't think it was necessarily to get candy but to just run around.

 Nathan wanted to help Grandpa hand out candy but......

 he mostly confused people so we left it up to Grandpa

 So he took off with Brandon and started running around the parking lot. Poor Kimball was trailing behind but he wanted to do what his brothers were doing.

 I didn't realize until I uploaded my pictures that they weren't all as clear as I had thought!! I just haven't gotten used to my new camera yet!

 For some reason Kimball didn't want his costume on, so to tease him Daddy put it on. I think it looks rather good.

 Kimball was content to sit on Grandma's lap and eat candy

 Grandpa had fun with his light, in fact it was a good thing he had it because it was pretty dark.

 Me and Trav....I will not confirm or deny that I had candy in my mouth!

 Brandon found a quiet and secluded area to eat his candy and his chili.

 Him and Mommy....everyone LOVED his costume.

 Nathan soon joined Brandon and ate too. He had a better time than at school with his head. We put a stick in it but apparently after a few hours it starts to lean....or the dinosaur was just tired.

My two little boys! They had fun that night! It was so nice on the way home around 9pm everyone was asleep in the van! We just carried them all in and took off their costumes and they were in bed!!

Before the end of the Year Projects

In the past I have dreaded Christmas, mostly due to the fact that I am trying to finish projects that I have created and wanted to give away as gifts. This year I have only 1 gift that I am making and need to finish. Due to budget cuts in the sewing department, I am not making Christmas gifts this year for family members, everyone can get a lovely card from us instead. How sweet I know! What I am getting at is that my projects that I want to get done is rather low! I have been extremely stressed lately and I figure if I just do the bare minimum for the rest of the year (December) I can recharge and relax a little. So to help organize myself I have created a list of what I want to get done by the end of the year. I am fairly confident I can get it done and hopefully most of it done within a few weeks!

December To do List:
1. Moda Quilt
2.Christmas gift (I don't want to give more info....it's still a surprise!!)
3.John and Jacque's Quilt (I just need to actually quilt this one)
4. Live, Laugh, Sew Bee blocks
5. Live, Laugh, Sew Fabric Swap
6.Round Robin Bee Blocks
7. Pretty in Pink Bee blocks

Not a bad list! I need to get my bee blocks done asap and plan to get that done next week. I should be getting some more blocks for December, so as they come I will get them done. I hate having them hanging over my head! I just feel bad that I haven't been on top of them as I should have, but the good news, 2 out of the 4 bee's that I am in end in December!! YEAH!!! Then I am taking a break from Bee's for awhile!! I think I might want to do some different swaps that are all over flickr.

Does anyone else have this long of a to-do list, or even scarier...LONGER??? I wish you luck as you work yourself to get it done. I will lend you my support and encouragement! I have one tip to help you get that motivation that you may be lacking.....check out the MANY different blogs that I have on my "Fellow Quilters" blog roll. You can see MANY different projects that others are making, and it can be quite inspiring! I know that I am itching to get home and back to my sewing machine!

Then because I don't like posts without pictures, here are a few books that I am going to see if my library has, they seem like some good books to browse through and to read!
