Stumped....

Okay so I am kinda stumped...I have almost finished my DQS12 swap quilt but I am just not sure how to proceed...
This is the lovely quilt that I am going to be sending out. I am going to replace the tree...I don't like the trunk part so I am going to just going to put some applique on it instead. But I am not 100% sure how to quilt it! And then I wanted to add some embroidery to the trunk as well, but not sure what to do for the design. With this being so close to done I don't want to screw something up on it now...So how should I quilt this thing? And what about the tree?

Received....

I am participating in two different mini quilt swaps right now. I am rather enjoying making these little mini's to swap with ladies, but the other week I received one for me!
Isn't it pretty? I asked for Modern fabric, or a pink/brown combination. I am in love with this quilt! I am not 100% sure where I am going to put it, but I think I will end up putting it in my room with the other mini's that I have collected!  This quilt reminds me of a raspberry/chocolate combination! Yum!

I received this from Sandy over at Loves to Quilt. She is one talented lady!

I am still finishing up on mine. I have some embroidery that I am finishing, and then just a few quilt lines and I can then send it off! I will post pictures of it as soon as I have it done!

Busy Bee

So I will be the first to admit, I am have become anti-social! I rather stay home at night and watch a movie while sewing...that is what I rather do than anything else! Crazy? Weird? Who knows, I just like sewing...it relaxes me!

I started this project last June...I only had a jelly roll and 2 charm packs and I wanted to make this quilt...
It's called Dot Party by Jaybird Quilts.  I bought the magazine that it was featured in so that I could make it, but I didn't have 10" blocks, only a jelly roll and 2 charm packs...so what did I do?
I cut the jelly roll into 4 1/2" strips and sewed two pieces together to get me a block size of 4 1/2". I didn't have a special ruler to make it either, so I created a cardboard template. Now I am in the process of making all the blocks now!
I need a total of 506 white squares....and a total of 253 colored blocks! You cut the circle out of the colored blocks and then use both pieces on each of the white one.
I don't even have half of them sewed together yet, I am rummaging through my stash to find some plain white fabric. Thankfully I have some!  I am using the line Bliss by Bonnie and Camilla. Love the colors and I just know that this is going to be a BEAUTIFUL quilt!

I think I should have a goal to finish this quilt by this June, so that I have it all completed within a year!
