Thanksgiving (Warning a lot of pictures)

I can't remember when the last time I was home and had Thanksgiving dinner here (Colorado). When I was young we would go down to Denver and have two Thanksgiving dinners, one at Grandma Lois's (My dad's mom) and then one at Grandma Rita's (My mom's mom). Now that we are older we don't do too much with the extended families but have started our own family tradition. So it was just my siblings. It was really nice, I didn't realize how big we have gotten! We barely fit around the table and have room for the kiddos.
We made 4 pumpkin pies, 2 pecan pies, a pumpkin desert (family recipe) and my sister-in-law brought 2 more pies
We made 6 batches of my Great Grandma Olive's roll recipe. I made my mom make a lot because I wanted to eat them with the left over turkey for the rest of the week.....
I think we had enough rolls....too bad we ran out of turkey, and then we made a ham, and ran out of that too!! We still have about 3 bags of rolls let!
We had tons of stuffing and 2 pans of my Grandma Lois's green bean casserole
We had a HUGE pot of mashed potatoes....we still have some of this left
Kimball liked helping Grandma make the rolls....
Or maybe he just wanted something....like candy
My mom has this little kid rocking chair, it was funny to watch him rock in it (this picture doesn't show it well)
We were trying to get a picture of us sisters with my mom but then the kids thought that they needed to be in it! Silly kids!
My sister Jenni and her husband Chris, he made a lot of the dinner, it was really good
Me and my sister (for those that are curious she is 2 years older than me)
Here is the newest addition to the family, Riley. She is my youngest brother's (Joe) daughter. She is 2 months old.
We had all the kids sitting in the living room while the grown ups sat that the dinning room table

We didn't have quite enough tables and chairs, but it was okay the kids liked it
There was SO much food! Makes you feel very grateful that you have fill up your table with food
Here is Amber (Joe's wife) sitting next to my dad

This is my niece Morgan, she is my twin brother's step daughter.
Riley usually likes to look up at the ceiling to look at the lights a lot, and so I was pretty amazed that she was looking at me in this picture
This is Wyatt (Jeff's youngest son)
We did attempt to take a family picture, unfortunately Trav wasn't able to make the trip. SOMEHOW we are suppose to photoshop him in
Jenni, Catie, Me, Joe, and Jeff
And then here are all the grand babies! It will soon be out of date, as my sister Jenni is expecting another girl in March.

It was a nice evening and I was glad I could spend time with my family.

Visiting Family

I am very excited this Thanksgiving Holiday to visit my family in Colorado. Travis stayed home in order to get some work in and I took the kids for the holiday. So far we are having a very fun time and enjoying ourselves. The boys are having so much fun with their cousins! More pictures will come later but I did want to share this.

Yesterday we took a few pictures and I sent them to Travis so he could see us and what we have been up to. He then sent out an email to his family with some pictures of Kimball. I wanted to share his email that he sent out, mostly because I thought it was cute and wanted to remember it.

Crystal sent home some pics of the trip to Colorado and while all the boys were adorable Kimbal had a series of poses that really made me laugh.

Here is Kimball plotting to take over the known universe.
Here is Kimball putting his plan in motion by trying to eat everyone
And here is the confusion of a plan that just does not work the way expected.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Here are a series of pictures/comics to express my feelings this year....

10 Things I am Thankful for this year:

1. I was able to make a dream a reality by having my pattern designs approved by the Moda Bake Shop
2.I have been able to loose 30 lbs this year and keep it off
3. I have always had time to finish and accomplish all of my responsibilities
4.My children have been very healthy this year with no major illnesses
5.Travis was able to have a very successful tonsil surgery
6.With Travis loosing his job, we have been able to pay all of our bills and put food on the table
7.I have been able to meet many new people this year and have created several new friends
8.I am able to visit my family in Colorado and enjoy their company
9. My children have been able to adjust rather well to many new changes that have happened in our family
10. I have been blessed with Travis, Brandon, Nathan and Kimball. They love me for who I am, whether I am having a bad day or a good day they are always willing to give me "loves" at the end of the day! I don't know what I have done to ever deserve such wonderful boys or husband!

I hope you all take the time to recognize what many blessing you have and create your own "10 Things I am Thankful for this year" list.

Happy Thanksgiving!

More Bee Blocks done

I was able to finish these Bee blocks this month, for my Round Robin Bee. I have sent these on and still have 3 different blocks to get done. Since I am going out of town for Thanksgiving I am going to work on this next week. I have a few that are WAY behind but I don't think I am the only one that got behind.
This is a Snail Trail Block. I was afraid to make these awhile ago, but these wee pretty easy to put together

I am really bad and can't remember who I made these for!! AHHH But she does have a nice little collection going. Very pretty! I can't wait to see the final product!

Trav's New Hobby

Trav has a new hobby that has quickly become into an obsession. Yesterday he told me that he is going into withdrawls! The last time he went was 2 weeks ago! Silly man!
He loves to go into mines and find rocks!! I think soon we will have a room FULL of rocks because he brings home so many!
Here is him and one of his friends, Dave.
Him posing in front of an old rusted min cart
 His friend Jared...goofing off...
The found a lot of these types of rocks.....Dog tooth, I am told they are calcium deposits
Here is a layer of clay, it looks hard but it is just puddy. Trav said it was fun to play in.
At one point they had to drop a short distance....Trav was scared, only a little (he is afraid of heights)
Here is a small insert with little tiny dog tooth rocks, I like these better than the big ones.
Then at one point Jared found a hole in the ceiling and wanted some rocks in there and so piled old tables on rocks to get to it, apparently VERY unsafe!
Do you think his wife would be happy to see him like this???

He was planning on going this weekend but unfortunately it has snowed and so he can't get to the mine, he is VERY bummed!!
