Get "Re" Framed and Giveaway

Some may remember my "Get Framed and Mini Framed" quilts from Moda. Well if some of you have gone to it and have tried to make it, well you would have found that some of the measurements were not "on". Well I was asked to fix it, which I did. But I felt so terrible! There is no excuse for me screwing up like that. The only thing I can say is that I have become a better quilter since than and hope I never have something happen like this again!

So go ahead and check it out over on the Moda Bakeshop!

I also got some fabric, Little Apples by Moda ad remade the quilts using the new measurements! Let me just say, it came together very SMOOTHLY and fast!
I love the colors in this! I used the Moda light grey for the sashing.
But since I feel so bad that I let everyone down with bad measurements, I have decided to giveaway this Mini "RE" framed quilt! **See below for giveaway details**
Of course I had my helper again.....Here he is "pretending" to be sleeping!
Such a silly goose! He just found out that Mom caught on to him!
But then he decided that his little dinosaur "Paddy" needed to have a blanket to lay on as well, so laying it upside down because "that's the way it's suppose to go",
He got it all set up for his little Paddy.
There they are laying down in the back yard taking a "nap".

***So ready for giveaway details?

1. Just leave a comment! Anything will do, although I would like to say that flattery will get you EVERYWHERE, but when the time comes I feel bad and so do the drawing fairly via random.org.

2. Follow me for an extra count...

3. Tell someone about this giveaway for an extra THREE counts....yup that's right, 3 extra entries!  Please include a link....will make it easier to check up on everyone!

That's all! So you can either get 1 or up to 5, your choice! Please leave a separate comment for each number....so one comment, one for following and one for telling me that you shared with the link. And please leave a way for me to get a hold of you via email....if not I will have to discard your entry and draw again!

So when should this giveaway end?? Hmmm.....let me check my week.....how about Friday night? So the giveaway will end on Friday, April 28th at 7pm (MST). This will allow me to put kids to bed and then finish the giveaway! I will post the winner on Saturday morning sometime.

Pieced Free Spirit Quilt

Here is my handsome helper, Kimball! I finally got around to taking pictures of a quilt that I finished LAST year! It's amazing to find out that finding time to take pictures of the quilt takes almost as long as making the quilt does!
It's just a nice size lap quilt. I used up all of the left over fabric from two of my different Moda quilts, Bird love and Get Framed.
Here is the back....I thought I had finished using up all of the fabric, but going through some other piles of fabric I found more! Oh well more scraps!
Kimball wanted to help me take pictures of the quilt. The boys love all the quilts that I make, and this is Kimball "kissing" the quilt.
I've added this to my "summer" collection of quilts. It's actually in my living room that we can use while cuddling or sitting on the couch!

Sew Mama Sew Fat Quarter Idol

I just have to say that Sew Mama Sew does an awesome job to get fellow quilters interested in them. They host massive giveaway swaps and contests and give tons of useful information! Right now they are having a contest for the next Fat Quarter Idol

So basically you go through their store and find 12 different fabrics that you like under each category that they give. Each week they give a new one, and if they like you, then you  move on! Once you find the fabric that you like, you just pin it to a new board on your Pinterest account! Seriously they are combining two  great loves! Fabric and Pinterest! Easy right? Well if you do end up winning, you get your fabric free! Nice right? Well here are the basic rules....
So this week's theme is Sweet Child of Mine. Here is what I wrote (basically describes why I did what I did too).

"This is so fun! We can have the chance to play designer and play with the different fabrics!
I am a mother of 3 autistic children, and this month being National Autism Awareness Month, and it being a child theme, how could I not pick fabrics that represent my wonderful children in a multi-color of fabric! There is no specific color for Autism Awareness but a puzzle of a mix of colors representing the rainbow because each child with autism is very different from another child with it.

I can explain why I chose each and every design of fabric for my “masterpiece”! ( So please let me know if you are curious as to why I choose each one! I’m lucky enjoy that there was something in each color that represented at least one of my children!)

**Autism Fact – Now 1 in 89 children have some form of Autism** "

Here is a mosaic of my fabrics too.
So if your like me, love Pinterest and love to look at fabric, give it a try! It seriously took me about 15 minutes!

Here are some of the ones that I looked through and found very nice! It makes me hope that mine passes onto the next round!

This also gives you and idea of what others are doing as well! So go and give it a try, what is the worst that could happen? Not win?

Pez-O-Rama

I have another Moda Bakeshop quilt to present.....

Pez-O-Rama
I just love this quilt! It's perfect for a beginner quilter that wants to attempt that first "large" quilt!
This bad boy measures 90.5"x102"! I tend to try to make larger quilts because 1) Trav like to tuck the blanket it in at the end of the bed, so his feet are covered and 2)I just don't have many quilt for my bed!  It seems like I am making so many quilts but none for my bed!

I love how bright and happy this quilt is! I love the colors and as soon as I saw it, I knew that I had to make something with these colors!
If you want to know how to make it, go to the Moda Bakeshop and check it out! I love the Moda Bakeshop! I always go over there to find what everyone else is making and then decide on what quilt that I want to make too!

Dinosaur Museum Field Trip

Last month I was able to go on a field trip with Kimball. This is my fourth time attending this particular field trip. I always enjoy it and as do my boys. Since Brandon is home schooled now, I took him with me so that he could enjoy the field trip as well.

**Looking at these pictures, it makes me wish I had either a better camera or that I was a better photographer!

At the beginning of the trip they talked about what they could and could not touch...this was a thing they "could" touch. Kimball told me every time we saw one!
Kimball and his friend in his class.
This museum has a little cave that they can walk through...I have a picture like this of all my boys around this age from each of their field  trips! I will have to put them all together and look at them....
Brandon had fun during the field trip and took his DS so that he could take pictures too. I have no idea what type he got but he was constantly taking pictures!
I think Kimball was on a "silly high" because he was so excited that I was there and just happy to be around dinosaurs!
Brandon was really good and posed for me a lot!
There is also a place where they could play in the water and sand and dig for little toys and whatnot. Kimball liked it, but was ready to move on really soon.
I was told that Kimball wanted one of these for a pet...which led to a week's discussion from all the boys as to which dinosaur would make the best pet and which one they wanted.

Kimball was getting tired and so this is his "grumpy" and "I'm not going to smile" look. Just a moment later he started to smile!
Then we moved on to the last part of the museum where they could dig for dinosaur bones!
The boys really like this part! I think this is what they think being a palaeontologist would be like.

Afterwards of course we had to go to the gift shop and Brandon used the last of his Birthday money to buy stuff and then each boy got a small stuffed dinosaur. They love them and sleep with them all the time now! My little dinosaur boys!

Another Quilt Top Done

This past weekend I enjoyed watching the LDS conference on the computer! Have to LOVE technology for allowing us to stream it off the internet! It was wonderful to spend the weekend listening to our inspire leaders share their testimony and wisdom with us!

As always I like to sew during General Conference. I had bought some charm packs a while ago and decided to use them. (I would have quilted quilts but I am having issues with my Juki yet again!) So I make a quilt using this awesome design from the Moda Bakeshop! I have made it before and wanted one for myself!
I love how the gray looks with this line! I forget what it's called though and have already thrown away the wrapper! But I just love the colors!
For the middle sashing area, I used the scraps from making the points on the stars, I really like the effect that it brings to the quilt! Because trust me...I wanted to use ALL of the fabric!
Before I baste and quilt it, I was thinking of putting a border around it, to finish it off as well as to make it a little bigger. I don't know why I always want my quilts bigger, but I do.
