Halloween Parties

Today I had 2 different Halloween parties to go to. The joys of having multiple kids, and in two different schools.

The boys were so excited to go to school this morning they were both ready for school at 6:45am!! That is semi normal for Nathan, but with Brandon I usually have to drag him out of bed so he can get to school by 8am.

I had to be at Brandon's school by 10:15, and I had to run to the store before I went, so I had to have kimball ready to go and since his brothers were dressed up he should go. So I got some pictures of Nathan and Kimball. (I didn't think about getting one of Brandon before school)
Kimball wanted his picture taken but then got mad at me.
(Do you see Nathan's beautiful art work behind Kimball?? Nathan glued paper to the door and Kimball colored the door. I can't get it off)
Here is Brandon and his costume parade at school. He was so happy to see me! He loves it when I go to his school. I helped hand out goodies that they earned for learning things, like their address, phone number, couting by 2's....that sort of thing. Then I had made 5 dozen sugar cookies for his class to decorate later.
Then I had a hot date with my husband!!! We went to Subway, our new favorite place to eat. I was told by Nathan and Brandon that I HAD to dress up, so I go with my favorite costume, Raggedy Ann.
Then off to Nathan's class room. Now I was in charge of the party, and since I am, I don't get good pictures. But all the kids had so much fun! We made pumpkin rattlers, duck tape candy corn candy bags (that is a mouth full) and popcorn hands.
Nathan was busy getting his things ready to go home so he didn't want his picture taken.
If you have ever had a little child with you and you try to teach or help out with a party, you can't watch your kid very much!! I am so lucky that Nathan's teachers love Kimball. They couldn't get enough of him, he thought it was pretty nice. And he got lots of candy too.
So now our day is done and I am pooped!!!! But it is worth the memories and all the hard work that I do for the children, and I would do it all over again tomorrow if I could!!
Now I can start thinking of Christmas activites to do!! :D

Brandon's Quilt

With 2 kids down with a quilt, it is time for me to start on Brandon's quilt. He said that he wanted to have a colorful quilt with lots of colors, so I decided to make him this quilt. (Side note: I love this blog and this woman, even though I have never met her. I tell everyone about her and send everyone to her blog. ) I have all of the stuff to make it, just need to finish it now, and since I am done with Kayla's quilt , I can do it. Although I am trying to finish my quilt along!! More pictures to come!! I am hoping to have the quilt top finished by today or tomorrow.

Mint Chocolate Chip Quilt

My dear cousin Kayla got married yesturday and for her wedding I decided that I wanted to make her a quilt. Her colors were a lime green and brown. So I found some material, (I had fun finding it) and started to work on it. I was able to get it done in 6 days. Considering what I needed to do and my boys and having company I am quite proud of me.

Travis told me that it was a good thing that we aren't keeping it, because every time he looks at it, it reminds him of mint chocolate chip ice cream, so that became the name for it. But I do love the colors and am very pleased with how it turned out. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of it, but I am not that good with the camera and it was rainy out.

Kimball's Birthday

For the boy's birthday we always let them decide what they want for dinner, and they always choose eating out....Mcdonalds....no exception for Kimball. So we went to dinner for Kimball, and due to events during the day I wasn't able to make him a cake, so after dinner we stopped off and got a cake and then went home.
I find that as the years have progressed I have become busier and don't have time to do as much as I like, thank goodness the boys don't mind store bought cakes and non home cooked meals. Maybe when they get older they might want it, but we will wait until then. Of course Kimball was very excited to be at Mcdonalds.
Nathan for once let me take his picture. He was bounching all over the place. He liked this toy, when you slid on the piano it made noise.
Daddy and his boy...Kimball has always been a daddy's boy.
Don't they look alike??? Give Kimball some brown hair and he would look like his daddy.
I don't know why but every time I try to take Brandon's picture, if he is holding something, he brings it up to his face...so here he is with his new toy.
Ahh my boy. The 3rd attempt always works!!!
Kimball was a little confused with the cake and wasn't sure what to do but he got it in the end.
Even with the presents he wasn't sure what to do, so again Daddy had to show him what to do. Then he got into it.
I made him the pants he is wearing, a jumpsuit one and a sweater.
After this present, everything was lost, and he didn't have eyes for anything else, so Nathan got to help him open his last present.
The cake was really good! Maybe too good, it didn't last long.
Happy 2nd Birthday Kimball!

General Conference

The other weekend was Gereral Conference and Travis and I don't ever expect our kids to sit through conference, but we did want them to listen to the Prophet, so we called them to our room and have them sit. It took them a long time to settle down, but after they did they wouldn't leave!! Then we find that Nathan had put stickers all over Kimball, and when we asked, he said that he did it to help him sit still, and he did! They were so cute!

Finished Quilt

Maybe Last week or the week before, I finally finished Nathan's quilt. He really does like it. If I could change one thing I would make it bigger. Oh well I guess that means he will eventually get another quilt.
Now I get to start Brandon's!

A few weeks ago I won my first giveaway. I won these two cute books! I can't wait to receive them. I won them from Rhonda at Back Porch Quilters. I am excited to add a new layout to my collection.
