Triathamom

Well I am going to do my first ever Triathlon!! But not any one....a Triathoamom!

It's going to be on August 18th.....I am going to start training now...since well all I am doing right now is walking! I have a bike I can ride and I will be swimming at the local rec center....I am hoping that training for this I will actually loose some weight!

If you want to register (its in Utah) sign up! But it seems like a fun thing to work towards this summer!

Baby Quilt

I am still making little baby quilts for new mothers in our ward (church group). We had a Mom move out of our ward recently but was such a good friend that I made one for her too!
It's just a simple design but a little fancier than what I normally do!
Of course she loved it! I have two more that I am making for Moms this summer. But they are boy quilts.

Train Restaurant

Last week we had our cousins up from Vegas stay with Grandma Walker. We had a fun few days playing with them (as we always do). But Grandpa Walker has been super busy working on a fiberglass plant (he is an electrician) and so we took one evening to go down (Nephi, UT) and have dinner with him. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it had TRAINS!

They had these train sets running all over the restaurant! They were awesome. The food was okay, you don't go for the food, you go to watch the trains!
And who else did they have? Thomas the Train! Oh my, Kimball was in heaven (he has been obsessed with him for the last 3 years...still going on strong!)
We had to go out and sit and watch Thomas while our food was cooking....Kimball could have sat there for hours!

After we were done eating, while a few of the grown ups were finishing, I took the kids and went out front to grab some pictures...
I wanted to get one of Kimball and Thomas...but he kept watching the train!!
Daddy was helping me and believe it or not, this is the best one of him!
I was also able to grab a shot of the boys outside....they weren't happy to do it but after a threat to never come to the "Train Restaurant" again, they all soon smiled!

A perfect restaurant for a family who loves trains!

Another Swap

I have entered into another swap! I know, but it was a few months ago and I had just finished one and thought to do another one. Well I have had the idea back in my head for some time, then have come to realize that I need to mail it out by this weekend!! AHHH!!!

It's called the Modern She Made Swap. You don't have to necessarily do a doll quilt but could make a mug quilt, sewing machine cover, etc. I decided to make a doll quilt. I was lucky enough to have my partner like circles and aqua and red.....so what do I have???
Remember this from this post? Well I have the perfect doll quilt and it's mostly done! Now I need to put it together, quilt it, and then find some other goodies to send her as well!

I guess there is a benefit to having tons of projects around right?

Lego Creations

So Nathan got a Lego Magazine from school last month and they had a lego creation contest. Well Nathan and Brandon could talk of nothing else for quite some time about it, and if they win, they get a $100 gift certificate. Well they would talk and talk about it, but wouldn't make it. So finally they were able to make one (and now I need to hurry and print the pictures and send them off!!)
They were suppose to create a new veichle for the "Advengures". So the larger one is Nathan's and the smaller one is Brandon's.

 Nathans creation.

I'm so proud of the boys! They are very inventive and so I hope they win (but not holding too much hope). But regardless I have created a new job chart so that they can earn some new lego sets. This is their favorite toy, this and the DS.

Making Presents

Last week we went to our nieces birthday party. We had missed our nephews (her brother's) part the month before and so I made a present for him as well. But they also have added another little one to the pack, so he got something as well!
This is for the newest one....I saw this saying on Pinterest and had to make it!
Then our nephew loves sports, just like his dad and is really into baseball right now, so I bought a regular shirt and then used freezer paper to make this shirt. It was my first time and I do have to say that I liked it a lot and will probably make the boys more shirts like this, instead of buying ones with prints on it!
Then this was for the birthday girl! I bought the fabric already gathered, so all I did was sew it into a dress and added ribbon and a bows to the top. I am not a fan of the flower bows, but everyone else liked them. I also make her two hair pretties to go with it! I added some velcro (the stiff side) to the hair pieces so that it would stay in her thin hair!
The happy and beautiful birthday girl! She ended up getting a LOT of different outfits and true to a girl, she tried them all on!

When was Easter?

This post is WAY overdue....so I will just post some pictures of our Easter....
We went to church (no new outfits this year) and then went to Grandma and Grandpa Walker's for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt....
I had a grand plan of how I wanted to celebrate Easter this year....but as usual my plans weren't successful!

I actually miscounted how many eggs there were so we spent time looking for some non-existing eggs...then I realized that I had miscounted!
But the boys had fun.....and I realized....my boys are getting too big!

Just a simple Easter basket as well....

 They boys loved it!
I know I am over a month late...but Happy Be-lated Easter!

Neon Trees Supports Autism

Last month we were VERY lucky to be apart of a special concert but on by the group..."Neon Trees". Our Autism preschool has a connection to the band and they were so kind as to put on a benefit concert for the school! The concert was almost completely sold out and we made over $6,000.
I got a shirt for each boy as well as for me....We could have met the band afterwards because we bought the shirt and I was planning on it....but unfortunately the boys were ready to go home before that...oh well, I am sure I will get another chance some day.
While we waited, the boys each had an electronic! It was cute and then once you looked around at the other families....they too had something for their kids to play with!
Nathan thought it would be very cute to wear my sweater/shirt and purse...silly boy...
We passed around ear plugs but that wasn't enough at times either. It took some time but the boys were able to get used to the noise...here is Nathan covering his ears...
Then the boys got up on the side of the stage next to the band and started dancing! It was so cute!

The band....Neon Trees

It was a fun night for the boys, and then afterwards because they were so good they got to have a Happy Meal for dinner!
