I started this project last June...I only had a jelly roll and 2 charm packs and I wanted to make this quilt...
It's called Dot Party by Jaybird Quilts. I bought the magazine that it was featured in so that I could make it, but I didn't have 10" blocks, only a jelly roll and 2 charm packs...so what did I do?
I cut the jelly roll into 4 1/2" strips and sewed two pieces together to get me a block size of 4 1/2". I didn't have a special ruler to make it either, so I created a cardboard template. Now I am in the process of making all the blocks now! I need a total of 506 white squares....and a total of 253 colored blocks! You cut the circle out of the colored blocks and then use both pieces on each of the white one.
I don't even have half of them sewed together yet, I am rummaging through my stash to find some plain white fabric. Thankfully I have some! I am using the line Bliss by Bonnie and Camilla. Love the colors and I just know that this is going to be a BEAUTIFUL quilt!
I think I should have a goal to finish this quilt by this June, so that I have it all completed within a year!
