Autism Walk

Please Support Brandon and Nathan!

Travis, Crystal, Brandon and Nathan along with their friends from school will be participating in the very first Autism Speaks: Walk Now for Autism in May. Please support our team, GIANTsteps with a donation by clicking on the following link.

We would be honored to have you help with a donation or by walking with us on May 3, 2008. Together we can help by advancing autism research.

Last March is when we first discovered that Brandon was on the Autism Spectrum then in July found out that Nathan too was on the Autism Spectrum. Since finding out we have been doing all that we can in early intervention so that one day they may not be affected by Autism. Since enrolling in a preschool for autism in September Brandon and Nathan have improved so much. Brandon going from not being able to sit still for 1 minute can now sit up 20 minutes. Nathan has been able to learn how to focus more and has improved on his speech so you can actually understand what he is saying. The improvements are numerous.

Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves and giving up we are working hard to help our boys learn how to function in school to every day life. Some days are a lot harder than others but with the help of their school and the resources given to us we are able to live from day to day. We now would like to help in furthering the research for Autism. 1 in 150 children are diagnosed with autism and 1 in 94 boys are on the autism spectrum.

Thank you all for your help and support!

The Hendrix Family
