I know I'm weird!

You know your weird when you find blogs that are in your state! I found another one that is in Ogden Utah. It is a good 3 hours north but still! It just makes me happy to see people so close to me! I might get weirder and decide that I want to create a quilting group here or something. Handnade by Alissa has done that in her area.

Anyway this newn blog Abbey Lane Quilts is having a giveaway, but also has an awesome pattern for a fast table runner! They are adorable!

I also won a few things already from Sew Mama Sew's giveaway event! I am so excited!

Sneak Peak

I call my sister Jenni all the time on the phone and this morning I told her that I had started her quilt and I was really excited about it. Well this afternoon I was able to finish a step! I was able to finish the top and so now it just needs to be basted and quilted. I don't have the back figured out yet, but I think I know what I am going to do , but just need to go get more material.

This will be called "Green Square Mix-up" and I believe it measures 96"x96" unfinished.

Festival of Trees 2009

Every year we go to Salt Lake City to the Festival of Trees. People donate trees completely decorated with goodies and they are auctioned off to the public. Travis's Mom and Step Father buy one every year. But this has been a family tradition for at least 7 years and I think they went even before I married Travis. We spend the day there looking at the 100+ trees, quilts, gingerbread houses, wreaths and enjoy the yummy food and the performances from local dance studios and music performers.

I usually take my camera and take tons of pictures, but yesturday I completely forgot!! But My MIL got a lot of pictures for me. We did however get a large family picture of us all there and then our small family. Over the years we have come to the conclusion of bringing a tripod!

The boys did fairly well considering that there were lot of people in a large building. The Festival of Trees has a kiddy corner that we always go to and make crafts and get our faces painted. This always kick starts our Christmas season.

Finally....more quilting done!

When my mom visited me in October we went to a quilt shop and she got a lot of different material. She also got some preprinted quilting fabric. I am not sure of the real name but it looked quilted but is just a bolt of fabric. She wanted me to quilt it for her, so after awhile I got it done. You can see how big it is, I didn't measure it but it is a queen size quilt. It is the largest quilt I have ever stippled, and it was hard. It makes my living room look so small.

Instead of hand stichting the edges I did a zig zag stitch around the edges and I think it turned it out rather well. The back is all pink. I have learned with this quilt so I can make the next one better. This is one of my UFO's so I have another one I can cross of my list. I have 2 more ready that needs to be basted and quilted. So I think I might be able to get all of my UFO's done by the new year!
