Sneak Peak

I call my sister Jenni all the time on the phone and this morning I told her that I had started her quilt and I was really excited about it. Well this afternoon I was able to finish a step! I was able to finish the top and so now it just needs to be basted and quilted. I don't have the back figured out yet, but I think I know what I am going to do , but just need to go get more material.

This will be called "Green Square Mix-up" and I believe it measures 96"x96" unfinished.

Festival of Trees 2009

Every year we go to Salt Lake City to the Festival of Trees. People donate trees completely decorated with goodies and they are auctioned off to the public. Travis's Mom and Step Father buy one every year. But this has been a family tradition for at least 7 years and I think they went even before I married Travis. We spend the day there looking at the 100+ trees, quilts, gingerbread houses, wreaths and enjoy the yummy food and the performances from local dance studios and music performers.

I usually take my camera and take tons of pictures, but yesturday I completely forgot!! But My MIL got a lot of pictures for me. We did however get a large family picture of us all there and then our small family. Over the years we have come to the conclusion of bringing a tripod!

The boys did fairly well considering that there were lot of people in a large building. The Festival of Trees has a kiddy corner that we always go to and make crafts and get our faces painted. This always kick starts our Christmas season.

Finally....more quilting done!

When my mom visited me in October we went to a quilt shop and she got a lot of different material. She also got some preprinted quilting fabric. I am not sure of the real name but it looked quilted but is just a bolt of fabric. She wanted me to quilt it for her, so after awhile I got it done. You can see how big it is, I didn't measure it but it is a queen size quilt. It is the largest quilt I have ever stippled, and it was hard. It makes my living room look so small.

Instead of hand stichting the edges I did a zig zag stitch around the edges and I think it turned it out rather well. The back is all pink. I have learned with this quilt so I can make the next one better. This is one of my UFO's so I have another one I can cross of my list. I have 2 more ready that needs to be basted and quilted. So I think I might be able to get all of my UFO's done by the new year!

Kimball........

I think our Father in Heaven made two year olds adorable because he knows that as parents we would kill them if not.

The other day I hadn't seen Kimball and it got quite, and of course when you hear that, you get concerned!! I go into the living room and this is what I find......

Finding him like this, you think he is just the sweetest and most adorable child, then you find him the next day like this.....

I have been painting these letters for Christmas and closed my door so that my boys wouldn't get in there. Well Brandon went in there to get something and didn't shut the door. Kimball is a magnet to art supplies....marker or paint he is there and gets into it faster than you can blink.

I was able to catch him in time and so he didn't too much damage and thankfully I had my old blanket down too! Want to know what he was trying to do??

Paint his train red! It's suppose to match, don't ya know!

All said and done, I love my little stinker!

Bar J Wrangler Christmas Concert

This past Tuesday we were able to get a babysitter and go to a Bar J Wrangler concert. They are a chuck wagon singing group. They are based out of Jackson Hole, Wy on the Bar J ranch. They have been singing for about 30 years now and I was introduced to them by Travis. They are awesome and funny and talented!! We went to their Christmas concert and we just loved it!
This is Tim, he plays the fiddle and has won many trophies and is just awesome!

This is Babe Humphrey, he is the one that started the who singing wranglers. He is in retirement but came out to sing with the show.

Tim and Scott

Scott, Babe and Bryan Humpry singing "Mary did you know". It is the best version of the song that I have ever heard!!

I didn't get a picture of Travis and I, but oh well you know what we look like!
