So lets get to it! Here is what I am giving away....
A homemade (my yours truely) crochet bag!! I have one that I made for myself and I use it ALL the time! It's big and pretty! I am thinking of making these and selling them, so this giveaway will tell me how popular they may be!

Then because I like even more chances to win I am giving something else away.....
A SURPRISE!!!! But believe me it will be worth it!! Oh I am mean and I know it!! But hey just think of it as an extra Christmas present!

So how can you win one of these fabulous gifts?????

1. Leave me a comment and tell me how much you would pay (PLEASE BE HONEST) for a crochet bag like this.
2. Follow me
3. Tell me your favorite quilt that I have made (HINT HINT there is a side column with my recent projects)
4. Since I am a slacker, if you pass this along on your blog you get 5 EXTRA entries!!!

Please leave a separate comment for each of these so that I can count easier, lets face it.....I have a hard time with math!!

So now hurry on and check out the next blog!! I know I will!

I guess it would depend on how long I thought it took you to make the bag, and I really have no clue how long it'd take you. So my guessimate would be about $25 for the bag?? (I hope that's not way too little... I would feel bad.)

I already follow your blog!

And I like your American Pinwheels quilt! I'd love to make a pinwheel quilt sometime!

I have no idea what to charge for things like this - but $25 or $30 seems like a bargain!

I think your cancer quilt is beautiful - and such a lovely gift for someone going through a hard time.

I would probably pay anywhere between 25 and 30 for the bag, i know that they take time and love to make them!!!!!

I love the pinwheel sampler quilt the best. You have made some pretty nice quilts. Very impressive.

I probably would pay 20 to 30 for the purse. It would largely depend on how much I liked the colors.

Wow what a gorgeous bag! I have no idea how much I would pay, the quality and workmanship of handmade items is always so much better than mass produced, and yet the price people are prepared to pay rarely reflects this!

I love your All Stars quilt, it is on my "to do" list!

I'm really not sure how much the bag would be worth because I don't crochet. I'll guess that with the yarn and your time it would have to be $25 at least. Add a bit for profit (bad word but you need to have some) and I would guess you would want at least $30 for it. I would pay that amount if I was looking to buy a nice bag.

I think that it would probably go for $25.00 in the current crafty market :)

My favourite quilt is Jared's Quilt. Love the subtleness and the greens.

Well I would probably pay $10-$15..but I can't really tell how big it is.

Your bag is lovely! I'm a tote addict - I think it would probably sell on etsy for about 25 to 30 dollars...Happy Advent!

Lovely bag! If I saw it somewhere I would expect it to be priced at $25-$30.

I LOVE your All Stars quilt - the design and fabrics are just wonderful. Congrats on having a MBS project (a goal of mine for 2011).

Thank you for visiting Homemaker Honey! How nice to visit your blog, too!

Whenever I'm not sure about a price for one of my handmade items, I check on Etsy (etsy.com) and see what others are selling like items for...that helps a lot.

I don't know if your giveaway is open internationally or not. I'm in Australia. Just wanted to say it was great having you visit me today and enter my giveaway!

I would say $30 at least. You should check other Etsy sites to see if you should go a bit lower or higher. I love all your quilts! I can't pick a fav.

I would think around the $25 mark for the bag.

TY for visiting my blog

Crochet Bag Price: If I were to sell it in Portland(OR), this bag would command twice what I can sell it for in Canbyland (20 miles south). And, I am totally frugal and a "I could make this myself" type person. I have to really love it to pay 'retail'. Etsy seems to mirror Portland's prices.
So - right off; I was thinking $20 so I am guessing Etsy would be $39.
Incidentally, I love the colors in the bag.

I love the idea of the surprise !!!
For the bag, I think 30-35 euros would be something honnest...

What a cool bag! I would think that $25-30 seems like an appropriate range. Looks like most of the commenters here agree with me. Glad to have you as a new follower too! :)

the pinwheel sampler quilt is my favourite (and just in case I don't win the giveaway, you can send me the quilt, it will do ! Sorry, I could not help !)

This is a great bag! I knit something similar last year and gave it as a Christmas gift. I am thinking in my head $20 which probably means that it's really worth more than that because I tend to underestimate. I think the "rule" is to triple the amount you spent on the goods to make the item.

Lopez Life said...

My favorite one is the framed and mini framed quilt.

Thanks for visiting/following my blog and for entering the giveaway!

p.s. lovely bag! I've crocheted things before and know they take time and effort! I think I would probably pay at a start $25, and depending on size and colors, go up from there.

Also, I like your Berries and Cream quilt and the wedding quilt you did!

Lomagirl said...

I'm very cheap, but it is a pretty bag. Hmmm. Maybe 20-30 dollars?
I'm curious about the surprise. Will it come so beautifully wrapped?

Jen Price said...

I love bags, but I'm so bad at pricing! $20?

Thanks for entering my giveaway and becoming a follower! Have a great day!

Great bag - thanks for letting me in on the draw!

What I'd pay for a handmade crocheted bag... Hmm!...probably about $30.00.

Thanks for commenting on my blog!

I have really no idea what to charge for a bag like this. To be completely honest I would probably not buy it as I crochet myself. ;-) But I know it does take a bit of time to make something like this. And for myself it would take so much time that it would be pointless trying to sell it. ;-)

It's is so hard to decide on a price, I would probably say $25- $30.

Hello,
I used to have a crochet bag and it was so handy because it's expandable. I would pay about $35. Not that it's not worth more but at that price I'd buy it. I love your gold present. I wonder what it is...

craftytammie said...

it looks like it would be great for shopping too! $20-30 would be a nice range i think!

i can't choose a favorite quilt, they are all lovely! the teacher mini quilts are really sweet though!

Oh my goodness...your talent is AMAZING!!! Quilting is something that I just can't get into, but you have definitely inspired me!! I really love ALL of your quilts, but I would narrow it down to the Tulips or the American pinwheels...divine!! I am terrible AWFUL with pricing, I really have a hard time pricing my own stuff, but everyone seems to be in agreement that $20-$30 is the right price...so let's go with that! :) Thanks for visiting and good luck with all of the giveaways!

Bec Clarke said...

OH you are clever to crochet a whole bag, I can do scarves and things. Perhaps it's worth $20-$25??? I don't know, I would definately investigate if I saw it at a market.
Your blog is lovely, thank you for visiting my giveaway too.

Jacqueline said...

Hey sugar! I think I would put a price point of $45 on the bag - knowing the time and materials cost - that would be a fair price. =) xoxo BTW - ITS BEAUTIFUL!

I follow you! <3

Beautiful bag! Thanks for entering my giveaway. I think that you should sell it for $25- $30 but I have never learnt to crochet so I have no idea how much it cost to make and the time it takes :s Sorry!

"Charge less, but charge. Otherwise, you will not be taken seriously, and you do your fellow artists no favours if you undercut the market." -- Elizabeth Aston

I agree with the $25-$30 price range for basic yarn. If it's made with high quality yarn then $35-$40. I would suggest material cost + $8/hour labor (minimum) = base price. Tack on at least an additional 10% for profit and there's probably a good starter price.
