Fourth of July

This past weekend we had a very LAZY and relaxing time. I did sewing, Travis played some computer games and the boys played all weekend. We were going to go to a family reunion of some sorts but Travis didn't feel comfortable going (it was step/family reunion). So I indulged my husband and we stayed home. (I mean I got to sew!)

Sunday night we let the boys play with sparklers we bought. It has been a family tradition since the boys were very very young. They loved it!

Dad couldn't light them fast enough! He finally got the bbq out and stuck them in the fire!

To get them to stand together, I told them that they could see fireworks if they stood there....we could hear them but unfortunately we didn't see them (oh well)

We had just watered the grass which was a good thing because they kept dropping the sparklers! Nathan did manage to light a dry leave on fire. We stopped it before anything could happen! The boys had a blast! They were running around so much we had to kept telling them to slow down so they wouldn't touch each other with it!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend and was able to think about the reason why we celebrate the 4th of July and what it stands for! I also would like to thank all the soldiers past and present who gave their lives to make this land free. Home of the free because of the brave!

Cute! Love the fun photos. Sparklers have always been my favorite part of the summer festivities.
